25 Money Saving Tips

Here’s a quick list of 25 tips on how to save money, hope you enjoy!

  1. Don’t pay for a TV license if you don’t watch live TV.
  2. Don’t buy fabric softener.
  3. Dilute your washing up liquid.
  4. Switch to energy saving bulbs.
  5. Turn off the lights when you aren’t in the room.
  6. Turn off electronics rather than putting them on standby.
  7. Only use the dishwasher when it’s filled up.
  8. Get paid to search for things with Qmee (click this link to earn 50p when you sign up).
  9. Earn cashback when buying online with TopCashBack.
  10. Buy second hand when possible (eBay, charity shops, Facebook marketplace).
  11. Always search for discount codes before buying something online.
  12. Cancel unused memberships (Amazon/gym/Netflix etc.)
  13. Regularly declutter your home by selling clothes and things you no longer use on eBay.
  14. Plan your meals for the week.
  15. Cook in bulk & freeze.
  16. Shop with a list and don’t buy anything that isn’t on the list.
  17. Never shop on an empty stomach.
  18. Cook meals at home.
  19. Earn money from your receipts with Shoppix.
  20. Use a reusable water bottle (my personal favourite is this one by Bodum).
  21. Buy non-perishable food in bulk (beans, rice, pasta).
  22. Reduce the amount of meat you eat.
  23. Switch to a sim only contract.
  24. Bring your own reusable bags to the shop.
  25. Shop when you know supermarkets will be reducing food. (Asda: 7 pm, Co-Op: 50% discounts at 5 pm, 75% discounts at 8 pm, Sainsbury’s: 7 pm, Tesco: 6 pm).
